ASHBURN, Va. (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins have signed eight players back to their practice squad, one day after trimming their active roster to a league-mandated 53 players.
Each of the eight were on the Redskins roster during the preseason.
Jawan Jamison was selected in the seventh-round of this year’s draft out of Rutgers and was in a crowded position battle with Keiland Williams, who was released, and Evan Royster.
Chase Minnifield was a highly thought of college free agent out of the University of Virginia last preseason before suffering a torn ACL and reverting to injured reserve for his rookie season.
Also signed to the practice squad were Linebacker Will Compton, defensive lineman Dominique Hamilton, wide receivers Lance Lewis and Nick Williams, and offensive linemen Xavier Nixon and Tevita Stevens.
