Shotguns, Ammo Found on Anne Arundel School Property

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Three shotguns were found in a student’s car following a search for alcohol on the campus of an Anne Arundel County high school Thursday morning.

A Southern High School student’s car was searched after he was identified by school staff as possessing alcohol on school property Wednesday, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Police found three unloaded shotguns, ammunition and a hunting knife in the car parked in the school parking lot.

The 17-year-old male student told police that he and a friend were shooting on a farm recently, and he did not remove the weapons and ammunition from the car.

There is no evidence that any threats were made by the student, according to authorities. He was charged as a juvenile with possession of a deadly weapon on school property.
