MILLERSVILLE, Md. — Anne Arundel County police are identifying a woman and two children killed when a flatbed truck rear-ended a Toyota Camry in Millersville.

Police said Wednesday that three passengers were killed: 37-year-old Bethany Dempsey of Warsaw, Va., her 14-year-old daughter, Lauren White, and 7-year-old Abigail Cullen, the daughter of Dempsey’s boyfriend. The crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon when police say the truck failed to slow down with traffic and hit the car, setting off a chain-reaction crash involving six more vehicles.

Police say Dempsey’s boyfriend, 37-year-old Michael Cullen II, was driving the car. Cullen and his 15-year-old son, who was in the front passenger seat, are both in critical condition at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Police are consulting with the State’s Attorney’s Office to determine if there will be any charges.
