LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A number of celebrities and dignitaries are scheduled to speak at Wednesday’s 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.
Iconic talk show host and actress Oprah Winfrey leads a list of speakers that also includes actors Forest Whitaker and Jamie Foxx, as well as Caroline Kennedy, and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. President Barack Obama is scheduled to address the crowd around 3 p.m.
Singers LeAnn Rimes, Identity4Pop, and BeBe Winans are also scheduled to perform.
The “Let Freedom Ring” events will be hosted by broadcaster Soledad O’Brien and actor Hill Harper.
The commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech begins at 11 a.m. on the National Mall.
