WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – This was two weeks ago, but since it largely got swept under the rug with Redskins training camp, and that whole RGIII thing, it’s safe to say we’re all in the majority in missing Gilbert Arenas proclaiming his statistical dominance over Michael Jordan.
TMZ caught up with Arenas, and in the traditional ‘ask sports guy about other sports guy’ TMZ way, the reporter prompted 31-year-old Gil to hypothesize a game of one-on-one against 50-year-old Jordan “up to five.”
“Can you beat Jordan up to five?” TMZ reporter asks.
“Who has the ball first?” Arenas requests. “I mean, if he’s still dunking at fifty, that means he’s still athletic enough to guard anyone, so I’d give him 5-2. I’d give him two.”
“Oh. Damn [sic]. Whoa. You think you can beat Jordan up to five?” reporter responds.
“I mean, we’re talking about a fifty-year-old Jordan,” Arenas replies. “We’re not talking about an NBA Jordan. “
To make things more current, and spotlight how this clearly hasn’t sat well with Arenas, to the point of disrupting his indeterminate offseason, on Tuesday he posted an Instagram photo of a real-life matchup between he and His Royal Airness during their playing days.

The above photo is a partial box score of game between the Wizards and Warriors, in March 2003, if anyone can remember the Wizards as far back as back as pre-Gilbert.
Note that Jordan put up a mere pittance of 24 points for Washington to Gilbert’s decisive 41 for Golden State.
And below is two of the best to ever play the game.
