Metro Closing Red Line, Green Line Stations for Labor Day Weekend

WASHINGTON — Metro says it will use the long Labor Day holiday weekend to work on several lines.

Metro says beginning Friday and continuing through Monday, free shuttle buses will replace red line trains between Forest Glen and Rhode Island Ave. Passengers using the buses can expect to add between 10 and 25 minutes to their trips.

In addition, on the green line on Saturday and Sunday only, no trains will travel to the Greenbelt station. Riders will have to use free shuttle buses to and from the station, adding 15 minutes of travel time.

In addition, on the orange line, passengers will have to wait longer for trains, with trains will operating every 24 minutes.

Metro says it is not planning any work on the blue or yellow lines.
