LAKE BUTLER, Fla. (CBSDC/AP) — The man whom police say went on a shooting spree that left three people dead and two others injured in North Florida has been identified as the step-grandfather of Buffalo Bills running back CJ Spiller by a Gainsville television station.
WCJB reports that Hubert Allen, Jr. shot a man at the trucking company where he used to work Saturday morning, leaving the victim in critical condition. Police say he then headed to the company owner’s farm, where he shot and killed a farmhand and the owner, Marvin Pritchett.
Authorities say Allen also shot another man, who is in critical condition. According to police, Allen later returned to his house where he killed himself.
Investigators have yet to name a motive.
Allen’s step-grandson, Spiller, was in Washington for a preseason contest against the Redskins when the shootings occurred.
