Elderly Woman Fatally Struck By 91-Year-Old Driver In Wheaton

WHEATON, Md. — Montgomery County Police say an elderly woman who was struck by a car being driven by a 91-year-old woman in Wheaton has died.
Police say Barbara Jean Green, 70, was hit as she tried to cross Georgia Avenue in a crosswalk near Henderson Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday. Green, of Washington, D.C., was expected to survive when she was taken to Suburban Hospital, but police say her condition deteriorated and she died early Friday.
Police say Miriam Rose Parizer, of Silver Spring, was driving the Honda Accord that hit Green. Parizer and an 88-year-old passenger were not injured.
The police department’s collision reconstruction unit is investigating the crash.
