Small Plane Crashes at Manassas Regional Airport

MANASSAS, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — A small airplane overturned and crashed on a runway at the Manassas Regional Airport Thursday morning.

The pilot, Sahel Abdulrahim Bader, 35, of Fairfax, was practicing take-offs and landings in a 2000 Cessna Skyhawk 172S when it crash-landed on the runway shortly after 9:30 a.m., according to Virginia State Police. The plane came to a stop upside down on the side of the runway.

Bader was not injured in the crash that caused minor damage to the plane.

State police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
