WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Two D.C. icons will converge on ESPN airwaves next week.
“I’m a carry this city until my arms hurt,” Wale raps on a track in RGIII’s upcoming documentary “RGIII: The Will to Win.”
The one-hour documentary, which airs Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. ET, covers the Redskins quarterback’s highly-publicized road to recovery from an ACL tear suffered in Washington’s playoff loss to Seattle.
This NFL Films/Gatorade Productions product is divided into six acts, and begins with Griffin’s 2013 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign, before diverging into his offseason rehabilitation process, with glimpses into his personal life throughout the process mixed in.
Along with being the star of the film, RGIII also gets an “Executive Producer” credit out of the deal.
“I just want people to see me as me,” Griffin said in the press release. “Not everybody gets an inside look at who you are as a person. Yeah, I’m RGIII; I’m the Washington Redskins quarterback. But sometimes you need to know why people do what they do.”
