WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Robert Griffin III has been fined $10,000 for wearing an “Operation Patience” shirt during pregame warmups prior to the Redskins preseason game against the Steelers, Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com confirmed Thursday.

League officials determined the shirt – modeled after a phrase he uttered during a press conference recently, in reference to the patience he’ll need in deference to his rehab process – to be unauthorized apparel.

The shirt serves a prudent reminder, as Griffin has already expressed discontent with coach Mike Shanahan’s plan to keep the quarterback out of preseason play.
