DOD: Va. Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

RICHMOND, Va. — The Pentagon says a 37-year-old soldier from Virginia has been killed in an enemy attack in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense said Master Sgt. George A. Banner Jr. of Orange died Tuesday of injuries he suffered when his unit was attacked with small arms fire in Wardak Province.

Banner was assigned to the 3rd Battalion 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, N.C.
