WALDORF, Md. — A pedestrian in a wheelchair was struck by a car while trying to cross the street in Charles County.
The sheriff’s office says the hit-and-run happened late Saturday night in Waldorf, at the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and St. Thomas Drive.
Authorities say a 34-year-old Waldorf man in a wheelchair was trying to cross the parkway when a car struck him. The driver then drove away. The man was taken to the Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he’s believed to be stable.
Witnesses say the car was white, and the sheriff’s office says it was possibly a Ford truck.
