Anti-Clinton Super PAC Creates ‘Slap Hillary’ Online Game
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Necessity is often cited as the mother of creation; in this instance, however, the culprit is a deep disdain for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
A political action committee called The Hillary Project – who bill themselves on their official website as “the only thing standing between Hillary and the White House” – has created the “Slap Hillary” game, which allows users to pretend to hit her across the face while talking.
Those who opt to play start by pressing the “Hillary Speaks” button, which makes the animated image of Clinton begin to talk. The only other move from there is to press the “Slap Hillary” button, at which point a cartoon hand appears and hits the likeness of Clinton across the face, causing her head to tilt and her eyes to roll.
The game is still on the PAC’s website – and those behind it are not apologizing.
“We didn’t see the liberal media bemoaning this “Slap Palin” game when it came out!” a caption under the game itself reads. “They only care when it’s the candidate they support for president.”
Despite their defense of the game, however, many are outraged by its creation.
“This ridiculous behavior is why no amount of ‘re-branding’ is going to help Republicans win over women voters – they just don’t get it,” EMILY’s List Communications Director Jess McIntosh said in a statement obtained by CBS News. “Violence against women isn’t a ‘game.’ Slapping a woman for speaking isn’t actually a joke. It’s just gross.”
