LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Useful information about congestion or a detour was nowhere to be found on an electronic road sign on Kensington Parkway in Chevy Chase Wednesday morning.

“Smoke Weed Evryday,” the sign proclaimed instead.

Channel 9 reports that Montgomery County police had deactivated and begun to reprogram the hacked sign by 9:20 a.m. after getting a call about it.

A representative of the contracted company that owns the sign, Potomac-based D & F Construction Co., told Channel 9 that crews are removing the keyboards that are used to input the sign messages to prevent future incidents.
