D.C. Police Investigate 2 Fatal Traffic Accidents

WASHINGTON — D.C. police are investigating two fatal traffic crashes this week — one northeast Washington, the other near the Washington National Cathedral.

The first occurred Monday morning, when a motorcycle traveling north on Wisconsin Avenue collided with a UPS truck heading in the opposite direction. The motorcycle slid and struck another car.

Police say the motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Geordan Glasgow Harris, died of his injuries at a hospital.

The other fatal crash occurred Tuesday morning in the 4300 block of Benning Road, NE. That one happened when the driver of a Cadillac DeVille mounted a curb, struck a chain-link fence and came to rest on top of three parked cars. The driver, identified as 49-year-old Mark Anthony Wise, died at a hospital.
