LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — After a pit bull bit two boys in Clinton, Md., Monday, Prince George’s County Police have arrested the dog’s owner for violating the county’s pit bull ban.
The six-year-old boy and his 13-year-old cousin encountered the unleashed pit bull in the 11600 block of Cosca Park Drive around 5:15 p.m., police say. They ran away and the dog chased them.
As the younger boy reached his house, the dog bit him. The 13-year-old tried to pull the pit bull off the boy when the animal turned and bit him as well. Both suffered wounds to their face and arms.
Neighbors ran to help and were able to remove the dog from the house. A girl who was with the pit bull left the scene with the dog before police arrived.
On Tuesday, authorities located the animal and its owner, 20-year-old Drew Byron Street of the 11500 block of Cosca Park Drive.
The dog is in the custody of animal control.
