DeAngelo Hall Injury Not Believed To Be Serious; X-Rays Taken
LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — DeAngelo Hall suffered a right ankle injury during the Washington Redskins afternoon practice session at training camp Monday.
The cornerback was scheduled to undergo X-rays after he slipped and rolled the ankle while opposing rookie wide receiver Skye Dawson. Hall remained on the ground for some time before he was assisted off the field by trainers.
The veteran returned for a few plays after having the ankle taped, but exited back to the sidelines a short time later and did not return.
Redskins officials don’t appear overly concerned with the injury.
“I don’t think it’s that serious right now,” said Mike Shanahan. “I know it’s quite sore. It takes a little while to find out for sure. Hopefully he’s okay. We’ll know more in the next 24 hours.”
In other injury news, a strained hamstring kept second-year offensive guard Adam Gettis sidelined during the afternoon session. The team is optimistic about his prognosis.
“I don’t think it is a big strain. I think it’s a mild strain,” said Shanahan. “Hopefully within the next two or three days, he might be able to practice.”
