WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - When the Redskins drafted rookie David Amerson with the 51st pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, they claimed rights to a ball hawk with an insatiable thirst for turnovers.

Amerson, 21, had 18 interceptions in three seasons at N.C. State, and set an ACC single-season record with 13 pick-offs as a sophomore.

Simply put, the guy has a nose for the ball.

So of all the elite quarterbacks Washington will face during the 2013 NFL season – Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Tony Romo, Jay Cutler, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, Colin Kaepernick – which would Amerson find the most joy in intercepting?

“Oh, I definitely think it would be Peyton Manning,” Amerson told 106.7 The Fan’s Holden and Danny, when asked that very question on Friday.

“He’s been one of the top, if not the top, quarterbacks doing it for a long time,” he continued. “And he’s definitely been a guy that I’ve always seen as one of the best in the league.”

“If I get an interception from him, that would definitely be a ball that I won’t get rid of,” Amerson said.

Look out, Peyton.
