WASHINGTON — A woman who admitted to drinking and smoking crack cocaine before driving her car on the sidewalk and killing a pedestrian has been sentenced to 7 years in prison.
Forty-nine-year-old Maria N. Werts of Washington was sentenced Friday in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She had pleaded guilty in May to involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence.
