LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) – District residents gathered on Ridge Road SE to memorialize four people recently killed by gun violence in the area.

The vigil took place near the site where Eric Leeper and Anthony Chase were killed last week.

The families of those young men and those of the brother and sister killed Saturday spoke out against the senseless violence.

Mayor Vincent Gray embraced the families and asked the community for leads to capture of those responsible for the killings.

“We’ve got too many who think you’re a snitch if you give up information,” Gray said. “You’re not a snitch you’re protecting your community.”

None of those killed this past week were older than 30.

Metropolitan police are asking anyone with information on the murders to step forward.
