BETHESDA, Md. (CBSDC) – Are mosquitoes attracted to beer drinkers? One study believes so.
According to a new study released by the National Center for Biotechnology Information, those who drink beer are more attractive to mosquitoes.
The study found that for every 12 ounce beer a person drinks, they are 20 percent more likely to be bitten.
“Beer consumption consistently increased attractiveness to mosquitoes,” the researchers concluded in their study.
The study went on to say that it is not only beer that has this effect. Any type of alcohol will have the same effect on mosquitoes.
The study also included other factors that affect one’s vulnerability to mosquitoes which may include exercise and the color of clothing one wears.
