WASHINGTON — Southeast Washington has a newly renovated recreation center and playground.

D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray and other officials helped open the newly renovated Fort Stanton Recreation Center and Playground on Saturday. City officials say the playground at 1812 Erie Street SE is the fifth to be completed under a city playground improvement project.

The recreation center includes a gym, fitness room, senior room and computer lab. The playground has a fort theme and includes a merry-go-round.
