LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — In a recent Mobile Consumer Habits study, 12 percent of respondents who were in a relationship said their smart phone use has an effect on that relationship.

And no wonder. Nine percent of respondents admitted to using their smart phone during sex! That already-steep percentage jumps to 20 percent for the 18 to 34-year-old age group.

Conducted by the market research firm Harris Interactive, the study also revealed that 19 percent of Americans polled admitted to using their device in church, 32 percent admitted to peeking at the screen at a child’s school function, and 55 percent said they’ve done it while driving. Twelve percent said they’ve used their smartphone while showering.
