LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The Washington Nationals have reinstated Bryce Harper from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-handed pitcher Erik Davis to Triple-A Syracuse.

Harper, who has missed the past 31 games with an ailing left knee, batted .354 with three RBI’s, a double, triple and home home run during four-game rehab assignment in Single-A Potomac and Double-A Harrisburg. He also scored five runs.

Prior to being shelved with knee bursitis, the 20-year-old Harper was hitting .287 with 12 home runs and 23 RBI’s in 44 games.

Davis has appeared in five games for the Nationals this season, all in relief efforts. He compiled a 6.23 ERA with seven strikeouts.
