LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A funnel cloud was spotted near Brandywine, as a strong storm swept through southern Prince George’s County Monday evening.

There were no reports of the cloud touching down damage in the area.

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for the area at 7:30 p.m. and minutes later the funnel cloud was spotted.

Within 15 minutes, the storm cell had weakened and the warning was lifted at 8 p.m.

Brandywine residents were able to get photos and video of the cloud before it dissipated.

The storm cell moved on quickly, dumping a large amount of rain and triggering Flash Flood Watches throughout the area.
