GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A woman has died and her two children have been injured along with several others in a multi-car crash in Anne Arundel County.

Maryland State Police have identified the mother as 41-year-old Katherine K. Grooms, of Fort Washington.

Police say her Honda Accord swerved across the grass median on Route 295 on Friday and collided head-on with a box truck heading in the opposite direction.

Her two children, a 9-year-old son and an infant, are being treated at a hospital.

Another driver is in the hospital, and the three children of a third driver were also taken to a hospital.

Police say the investigation is continuing, and they’re not yet sure why Grooms’ car crossed the median.
