WASHINGTON — A Maryland man has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for a 2011 slaying in northeast Washington.

Ricardo Mitchell of Temple Hills was sentenced in D.C. Superior Court on Friday for the killing of Wyatt Earp Robinson.

Prosecutors say the two men exchanged words in the early evening of Aug. 21, 2011, and that Mitchell confronted him with a gun and shot him several times. Robinson was unarmed.

Prosecutors say the 33-year-old Mitchell drove away on a motorcycle to a storage facility, where a surveillance video shows him wearing the same clothes as during the time of the shooting.
