Man Dead in Va. Domestic Stabbing ID’d

CHANTILLY, Va. (CBSDC) — The man who died after a domestic dispute erupted in a Chantilly home Tuesday has been identified.

Detectives have determined that a 20-year-old suspect fatally stabbed his brother, 24-year-old Haseeb Raza, around 11:15 a.m. A 61-year-old family member tried to intervene and was also stabbed in the upper body.

The 61-year-old was able to get away and fled to a different level of the house, on the 4100 block of Travers Court near Dallas Street. It appears that the suspect then shot himself in the upper body.

There were other adults and two children inside the home, which is also a registered daycare, at the time of the incident. They were not involved and no one else was hurt, police said.

The suspect is being treated for life-threatening injuries, and the second victim is recovering from non-life threatening injuries.
