GARRETT PARK, Md. (CBSDC/AP) — Montgomery County Police say two men were struck and killed by a freight train around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
Police say 20-year-old Elvin Rojas and 19-year-old Alejandro Uribe, both of Wheaton, were walking on the tracks near the Garrett Park MARC station when they were hit by a CSX train.
The train conductor applied the brakes after seeing the men on the tracks and sounded the horn multiple times before the train struck the victims.
The incident is still under investigation.
