WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — The Washington Nationals have recalled Tyler Moore from Syracuse and officially placed Dan Haren on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Sunday.
Haren was pulled from his start against the Rockies after just 3.1 innings Saturday, after giving up 6 runs on 7 hits and ballooning his ERA to a league-worst 6.15.
The $13-million pitcher is 4-9 on the season and has given up 19 home runs.
Despite being sent down to Syracuse to get more at-bats, Moore hasn’t seemed to find his swing in 12 games with the Nats’ Triple-A affilliate, with just 8 hits through 45 at-bats, with 2 home runs and 8 RBI for a .178 batting average.
