MANASSAS, Va. — Manassas police say they’ve identified a man who left threatening notes or suspicious objects at around 20 homes.

Police say the 21-year-old man admitted responsibility for the notes, which were left at homes in Manassas between last December and March.

Police say the man has a mental disability, and after consultation with prosecutors and his family, he will not be charged with any crimes. Instead, he will be given mental health services and supervision. The man’s family will be providing restitution to residents whose property was damaged.
