COLUMBIA, Md. (CBSDC) – Merriweather Post Pavillion has been ranked the fourth best amphitheater in America by Rolling Stone Magazine.

In a Top 10 list titled “Venues That Rock,” the magazine gives high praise to the Columbia, Md. venue for its flexibility in being able to hold both large and small crowds, the legendary act it’s drawn, and even its “structurally impossible” architecture.

Fall Out Boy’s manager is quoted as saying, “It feels great whether there are 6,000 or 16,000 people there.”

“This outdoor theater is a huge wooden slab that seems to float over a hillside near Baltimore,” the article reads.

Merriweather placed ahead of the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, and just behind the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington state.
