WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Redskins’ owner Daniel Snyder’s private equity firm, Red Zone Capital Management Co., L.L.C., has sold restaurant chain Johnny Rockets for an undisclosed amount of money.

Johnny Rockets, which includes more than 300 restaurants in 30 states and 16 countries, and more than 7,500 employees, has been acquired by private equity group Sun Capital Partners Inc.

The McLean-based Red Zone has been mulling over dealing The Johnny Rockets Group for a few months, after hiring North Point Advisors to assist with a possible sale in February.

The chain, which was acquired by Red Zone in 2007, recently expanded into Mexico, Ecuador, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The first restaurant opened on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles in 1986.
