WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Something that may have gone unnoticed – against all odds – about RGIII at Pierre Garcon’s All White Charity Event, was his explanation of why he doesn’t frequent the bar/club scene of Washington, D.C., like so many other Redskins seem to do.
“I’ve been out in the city I think three times since I’ve been here, as far as the nightlife goes,” Griffin III told Sunni, WPGC’s midday host.
“I try to do as much as I can within the city,” Griffin continued. “But also this offseason has been crazy with the knee injury, so I’ve got to stay focused on that.”
Aside from explaining away why he’s not more reckless with his time/money, RGIII, the constant leader, gave high praise to Garcon for putting on the event, which benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington to the tune of $30,000.
“I try to support all my teammates, but Pierre’s obviously got a special place in my heart,” Griffin said. “So to see him doing this, and to come out and support him, that’s paramount for me, so I just want to show him my love and appreciation for him.”
