Va. Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

RICHMOND, Va. — A soldier from Virginia has died in Afghanistan from injuries caused by an improvised explosive device.

The Department of Defense said Monday that 21-year-old Spc. Kyle P. Stoeckli of Moseley died Saturday in Maiwand, Afghanistan.

Stoeckli was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss in Texas.
