POTOMAC, Md. (CBSDC) – The woman who struck and killed a second woman in the parking lot of a Maryland grocery store Sunday has been identified.

Police say Hyun Jeung, 43, of Germantown, was driving an Acura MDX in the parking lot of the Giant supermarket on Tuckerman Lane around 2 p.m., just as 81-year-old Shirley Stearman was walking through the driving lanes.

The driver stayed on the scene and was questioned by police. The woman was taken to Suburban Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities say there are cameras in the parking lot that they will use to determine the cause of the accident. One theory is that the driver or pedestrian became distracted while a fire truck was responding to an alarm for a different store in the same lot.
