Loudoun Co. Fire Collapses Home, Injures Firefighters

LEESBURG, Va. (CBSDC) — Four firefighters were injured and a family was displaced when a blaze destroyed a Leesburg, Virginia home Thursday.

First responders arrived on the scene, the 18000 block of Castleguard Court, shortly after noon.

They discovered that the residents, two adults, three children and four dogs, had already gotten out of the house safely.

The firefighters suffered minor injuries, including heat exhaustion, while battling the fire. The house eventually collapsed and the flames caused minor damage to the homes on either side, as well.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
