NORTH LAUREL, Md. (CBSDC) — A teen who went missing Monday afternoon while swimming in a reservoir in North Laurel has been found dead, authorities said.
A 15-year-old male was reportedly swimming in the water at Scott’s Cove in the 11000 block of Harding Road at about 4 p.m. when people nearby heard him scream for help, authorities said.
About 40 rescue personnel from Howard County and WSSC police performed a search and rescue for about three hours. The boy’s body was pulled from the water at about 7 p.m. and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Swimming is not permitted in the cove, authorities said.
