ANNAPOLIS, Md. (CBSDC/AP) — A house fire in Annapolis required the assistance of nearly 50 firefighters Sunday morning, officials said.
A two-story, single-family home in the 1900 block of Sleepy Hollow Lane in Annapolis went up in flames at about 10:30 a.m., Anne Arundel County fire officials said.
When fire units arrived at the scene, they saw heavy fire and smoke coming from the house. It took a total of 44 firefighters and 50 minutes to get the fire under control, authorities said.
There were two people in the home at the time of the fire but no injuries were reported.
Fire officials said the fire caused more than $300,000 worth of damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
