Md. Man Seriously Hurt After Hit By School Bus

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A Maryland man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a school bus in Gaithersburg, police said.

The man was jogging at the intersection of Darnestown Road and Shady Grove Road when he was struck by a Montgomery County school bus at about 2:30 p.m., investigators said. The man, identified by police as Jason Alexander Estabrook, 42, of Point of Rocks, Md., was transported to Suburban Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There were no children on the bus at the time of the accident and no other injuries were reported, police said.

The accident closed portions of Darnestown Road and Shady Grove Road during the Tuesday evening commute but all roads were re-opened by 6:30 p.m., police said.

Police still are investigating the accident.
