WALKERSVILLE, Md. — The Maryland State Police says a 2-year-old who was struck by a car over the weekend in Walkersville has died.

Troopers identified the girl Monday as Frehiwet Olsson of Frederick. Troopers say they were called Saturday afternoon to the parking lot of Heritage Farm Park for a report that a toddler had been hit by a car.

Troopers investigating the accident found that the girl and her father had just arrived at the park. The 2-year-old was able to get out of the vehicle before her father and ran away from the car.

Another driver traveling through the parking lot hit the girl. Troopers say there are currently no charges pending against the driver of the vehicle.
