LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Silver Spring teenager.

Sixteen-year-old Juwan Keeshawn Smith, of the 400 block of Greer Avenue, was last seen on April 30.

He is described as a 5-foot-9, 180-pound African American boy with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a red hat and a red, white and blue polo shirt. He was also wearing blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Police say Juwan frequents downtown Silver Spring and the Briggs Chaney area.

Police and family are concerned for Smith’s welfare because he has not been in contact with his family. No foul play is suspected at this time. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children lists him as an endangered runaway.

Anyone with information regarding Juwan’s whereabouts is asked to call the Montgomery County Police-Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000. Callers may remain anonymous.
