GW Says New Gym Floor Will Feature DC Landmarks
WASHINGTON — George Washington University is adding images of District of Columbia landmarks to the floor of the gym where the school’s volleyball and basketball teams play.
The school announced the new court design Monday. It will feature the White House, the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument. That’s along with the university’s logo at center court.
Athletic director Patrick Nero said in a statement that the new floor design at the Charles E. Smith Center “further emphasizes our campus setting in the heart of D.C.” The court is expected to be finished in time for the fall sports season.
