Authorities: MWAA Officer Fatally Shot By Wife

STERLING, Va. (AP) — Authorities say a Washington airports authority officer was fatally shot by his wife in their home in Sterling.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says 52-year-old Cpl. Steven Spradling was found dead at about 9 p.m. Friday in the house in the 21700 block of Blossom Drive. His wife, 42-year-old Rosangela Spradling, was charged with murder and was being held without bond.

Steven Spradling was a 25-year veteran of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. Authorities say the couple’s two young children were in the home at the time of the shooting.
