FAIRFIELD, Conn. (CBSDC/AP) — As many as twenty five people were injured when two trains collided in Fairfield, Conn., authorities announced Friday, after what the train line is calling a “major derailment.”

Metro-North tells CBS New York an eastbound train derailed and collided with a westbound train around 6:10 p.m.

As of 8:45 p.m., authorities announced at least 50 people were injured. However, none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening, according to the transit agency.
