WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards told 106.7 The Fan he would lose respect for a teammate if he recovered from an injury and refused to help his team out in the playoffs, as Derrick Rose did with the Bulls.

In an interview with Lavar and Dukes, Beal was simply asked for his opinion on the matter of Rose choosing to remain on the sidelines, even as his team fell further and further behind in their series with the Heat.

“He might have to give it a go,” Beal answered. “If you’re practicing for two months, and then everybody in practice is saying you’re practicing well, I mean, I think you have to give it a shot in the game. Look at David Lee. You don’t have to play significant minutes, but the fact that you’re out there and that you’re actually giving it a go, I think people will respect that.”

Beal went on to say he would ultimately lose respect for a teammate in a similar position as Rose, if they decided to make the same decision.

“A little bit, yea I would,” Beal said. “Because I know the type of player he is, and the mentality and the competitiveness that he has, I think he would have gave it a go.”
