PASADENA, Md. — An attorney says Delegate Don Dwyer will plead guilty to operating a boat while under the influence of alcohol.
The Anne Arundel County Republican apologized at a news conference Monday, one day before he was scheduled to go on trial on charges related to an August boat crash that injured several people. Dwyer has acknowledged that he was under the influence of alcohol and over the legal limit at the time of the crash on the Magothy River.
Attorney David Fischer says other charges related to the crash will be dropped as part of a plea deal. He says Dwyer’s official blood alcohol content was .24, three times the legal limit.
Fischer says he will be seeking probation before judgment for his client.
