FREDERICK, Md. — Frederick police say an allegedly drunken driver may face new charges now that the pedestrian injured in a collision has died.
Police said Monday they were notified Sunday that 59-year-old Ricky Shelton had died at Shock Trauma in Baltimore. He was hit by a car early on the morning of May 2 in the 300 block of North Market Street.
Twenty-five-year-old Anthony Cilluffo of Frederick was charged shortly after the collision with driving under the influence of alcohol and other offenses. Police say a grand jury will consider additional charges stemming from Shelton’s death.
Cilluffo is free on $10,000 bond. He couldn’t be reached immediately for comment; he has no home telephone listing, and no defense attorney is listed in online court records.
