3-Year-Old D.C. Girl Hit by Stray Bullet

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — D.C. police say a 3-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet as she played on the balcony of an apartment.
Police say the girl was shot in the leg Thursday evening at the Forest Ridge apartment complex in the 2400 block of Elvans Road SE. She was taken to Children’s Hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.
Investigators are trying to determine what prompted the gunfire, but they do not believe the girl or the apartment were targeted.
D.C. police are looking for a suspect described as a black male in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing between 180-200 pounds with a light complexion, long dreads and a black jacket. He was last seen heading toward Pomeroy Road, according to police.
